Ryder Diamonds Presents: Lizzy Bosak, Our Sweet February Bride And Her Romantic Story
A look inside Lizzy and Stafford’s absolute Vogue worthy wedding
Lizzy Bourke’s Australian wedding was the absolute epitome of sophistication. From the flowers to the breathtaking couture Lihi Hod dress, it is clear she has an eye for detail with the entire day, looking like an editorial spread lifted from a magazine.
Where do you currently live and where are you from?
Between Boulder, Colorado and Los Angeles, California. I am originally from Bathurst, Australia.
How did you meet your husband?
We met while working at the same advertising agency over ten years ago. We spent nine years keeping in touch around the world, until we were finally in the same place at the same time. Stafford saw a photo of myself with Ryder Diamonds designer Katie in NYC and reached out again realizing I was finally single. We had our first kiss at Employees Only in West Village, New York – and Katie was there!
Where were you married?
A beautiful beach side town in Newcastle, Australia.
At Ryder, proposal stories are our absolute favourite! How did your husband pop the question? Was it a surprise?
Stafford proposed in Montauk, New York. He had set up an entire proposal with the hotel by the beach, but I was wearing heels and didn’t want to be in the sand (if only I had known!!).
When back at the room, I went outside on the balcony to overlook the ocean – when I turned around, he was waiting right behind me on his knee. I couldn’t hear a word he said as I was so shocked but mostly because I couldn’t believe I had finally found him; I was the luckiest girl in the world (and still am I!)
Tell us about your engagement ring and why is it so special?
My extraordinary engagement ring was designed by Stafford in collaboration with Ryder Diamonds designer Katie Feeney and featured a 1.70ct Oval Brilliant diamond with a diamond halo and band. Ryder values personalisation. They believe that every engagement ring should have their own romantic story behind it. So that’s what Stafford did in the collaboration. Blue sapphire is a tradition on both sides of our families, everyone bears that stone for the past 150 years within our families. To honor and continue this tradition Katie designed a sapphire wedding band to compliment the engagement ring.
Your wedding was absolute perfection! Do you have any advice for future brides?
I decided to do events over 4 days; it allowed everyone to get to know each other and didn’t put all the stress on “one perfect day”!
Last but not least, did you have a honeymoon? If so, where?
Qualia on Hamilton Island, Australia. It was phenomenal!
